Olympus Evolt E-500 camera lens w/14-45mm … is good for the price of the camera?
Hello could you tell me please, I have a slight dilemma I'm between Canon G9 and the Olympus E-500. Camera 450usd Olympus is shipped with 1GB card again, and the G9 is about $ 120 more expensive. I live in Australia and I have to pay a little more for shipping, etc. What do you prefer? I heard that the values for Olympus lens is not the best …
You are comparing probably the best point and shoot camera currently available with one of the least impressive DSLR ever made. Still, the Olympus camera is best for the time. And this is part of the beauty of digital SLR cameras, if you want a different lens (focal length different, something with better quality image, a dedicated macro, a prime target for shooting in low light) … you can. Another advantage of digital SLRs is their responsiveness. Point & Shoot cameras are pretty slow and the G9 is no exception. Point and shoot cameras have advantages when: you can use the LCD to compose shots, and can record short video clips.
