Can I use a 200mm telephoto lens for macro?
I have a EVOLT 500. I can not afford the Sigma 105mm macro yet. I have an adapter ring and I know someone sell me a 200mm F4.0 OM very cheap. Sufficiant Will work for any type of macro? What happens if I use a tube of 25 mm in length. Any thought. I have an Olympus Zuiko 35mm macro, but we need to put some distance between myself and insects. I can not drop $ 400.00 or more for the sigma yet. I dont mind manual trigger for … Thank you.
You can not get macro rings true without using a lens mounting revesal back, screw on filter lenses macro extension tubes, bellows or a macro lens. With all options except the macro lens are tradeoffs, but still all the work. Something that people do not think is that telephoto many will focus on a relatively close distance from the subject. That with the increased telephoto can get some great shots around that, while not really macro (macro is defined as a ratio of 1:1 or greater increase) are fun to do and are still misnamed macro lot of people here is a great article on Nikonians in he.
